Thanks for letting us have our say. Now are you going to listen and give us our money back?

A necessary condition for the overall communication in the public space and an appropiate openness and accessibility is apparently not the case here.
According to the panel biographies some people are only half way through their studies just like this project with extraordinary costs for cleaning the screens on the top shelters from pigeon´s dirt and snow.

Not a single ethnic minority amongst the winners. That's what i like to see, a complete white canvas...

This should have been called 'admin taking the lead'..
It is a terrible decision...there are no 'artists' chosen....'art public' is an insult to artists....administrators should be sacked form the panel ...we want content... not this waste of rubbish..
buses don't stop by the screens - stops anyway.. so you will have 1 second to read or see anything... what utter idiotic twaddle...YES I am agree...arts council must go ... lets respect artists.... Nitin being one

The Emperor has new clothes... look .. NO ... LOOK!
Really He has.... really... YES we are ALL artists now.. we are the 'ART PUBLIC'.... Really! .. really, we ARE!
OH! Who makes the good art again??? Oh! Maybe we have offended the artists! If we are all artists...we don't need artists! ???????
When the Romans left, didn't the UK go back to living in mud huts.....with fake profits, Monty Python, Bad clothes design for years, and no NHS?
Maybe we need artists to show us the way......BUT! I don't think the Emperor is wearing anything.....really, look, what can you see....??? What?? WHAT??????
The Selfish Giant
For me it is not an independent work of art to present drawings, texts or games on BBC or urban screens or on the web: It is not clear for the spectator whether this is advertisement or not and therefore this can´t be called "art public".
This is a cheap substitution for the failure of accessibility of the screens as tops of bus shelters.
I can´t see furthermore a connection with the (Para-)Olympics: Does it have something to do with sports, the specific needs of the next generation or disabled people?
It speaks for itself that the Judging Panel
just mentions the "Olympics" and NOT the Paralympics!
Flop instead of (Bus-)Top!
The ultimate art judgement
Sorry but I have to say it, [offensive language removed by admin]... all the haters (and before any "Anonymous" would like to jump in to respond, no Im not hating the bus-stop thing (re my comment below), its just a waste of this country's superb talent.

The Judging Panel said that BusTops "enables the wider public to become involved in creating art to the city".
It would have been the task of this Panel to check in particular whether this project "introduces young people to the UK´s artistic communities"!!! They demanded this point as a "value" (?) and now it is clear that this has NOT been fulfilled in a specific way. This is the main issue of London 2012!
I doubt if the "former unloved" tops of the bus shelters are now loved and I doubt whether those previously hidden spaces are now unhidden.
London 2012 is about young people
If you like the Nitin idea so much why dont you help him realise the finance to deliver the project... some people must have liked all the projects, and I am keen to see all of them realised... join up and do something.. STOP being sulky and nasty and pathetic!
Get on, get over, and do something you like...stop doing something you hate... what goes around comes around.. LOVE more... please!!

It's not pointless. We shouldn't be complacent about such a total waste of money. Sawhney's idea at least had some substance to it and was a realistic idea. This idea of art that is inaccessible to wheelchair users and anyone unable to get to the top of a double decker bus or even, more simply, drivers is quite repugnant. How dare they take 500,000 pounds of our money for this project!

this whole debate is pointless. Decision made. Move on.

A debate can be hard, but should be fair.
I think this decision of the Judging Panel just reveals that they don´t understand that this project doesn´t incorporate the Paralympic Vision to empower, achieve, inspire, this project is even perverting this "Paralympic Vision" because for example wheelchair users aren´t able to climb a bus and they aren´t deck passengers.
I regret the reaction of the wheelchair users that are shocked.
The Panel claims this Values for itself only for a decorative purpose with nothing behind.
Not very professional!
Yes, I agree!
close the arts council
